Why We Started DAP — Closer to the Water. Closer to Each Other.

Why We Started DAP — Closer to the Water. Closer to Each Other.

We didn’t start DAP to become just another eFoil brand. We started it because we believe more people should have the chance to experience a new kind of freedom on the water — and we want to build that journey together.
There are already some incredible brands in the eFoil world.
Some have been building products for years. Some have pushed technology forward in ways we genuinely admire. And many have already created strong communities of riders around the world.
So when we started thinking about DAP, we asked ourselves a simple question:
Does the world really need another eFoil brand?
For us, the answer wasn’t simply “yes.”
It was only yes if we could build something that felt different.
Not just a different board.
Not just a different motor.
Not just another name on the side of an eFoil.
We wanted to build something closer to the people actually using it.
And that is where DAP really began.

We Want More People to Experience Water Differently

One thing we kept coming back to was how exciting electric water sports feel the first time you experience them.
The moment an eFoil rises above the surface.
The feeling of moving quietly across calm water without waiting for the perfect wave.
Or simply adding electric propulsion to a paddleboard and realizing that the coastline suddenly feels a little more open to explore.
For people who already know these experiences, it probably feels normal.
But there are still so many people who have never tried an eFoil or an electric SUP.
We want to change that.
We want DAP to help make electric water experiences feel less distant, less intimidating, and more like something you can simply go out and enjoy.
You don’t need to be a professional rider.
You don’t need years of experience.
Sometimes, you just need a reason to get on the water.

We Know We’re Not the Biggest Brand

And we’re okay with that.
DAP doesn’t have decades of history behind it. We don’t expect people to choose us simply because they recognize our name.
So instead of trying to act like the biggest brand in the room, we want to focus on something we can do differently:
stay close to our riders.
We’re starting in Los Angeles, one community at a time.
We want to meet people actually riding our products. We want to hear what works, what doesn’t, what could be better, and what people wish existed next.
If something about a DAP product frustrates you, we want to know.
If you have an idea that would make your weekends on the water better, we want to hear it.
And when people in our community keep telling us
the same thing, we want that voice to have a real influence on what we build next.
For us, community feedback isn’t supposed to be a form somewhere at the bottom of a website.
It should be part of how DAP grows.

Starting Local, Growing Together

There is something special about building locally.
Instead of trying to be everywhere immediately, we want to start by creating something meaningful around the people closest to us.
That means more than selling products in LA.
We want to ride together.
Test together.
Organize local water days.
Share new places to explore.
Help first-time riders get comfortable.
Meet other people who simply love spending time around the ocean.
And hopefully, somewhere along the way, DAP becomes more than the equipment people bring with them.
We’d love for it to become part of the reason people meet each other in the first place.
As the community grows, we hope to take that same spirit beyond Los Angeles and into more cities and more waters around the world.
But we want to do it one step at a time.

DAP Should Feel Close

This is probably the simplest way to explain what we want DAP to become.
We want DAP to feel close.
Close enough that you can talk to us.
Close enough that your feedback actually reaches the people building the products.
Close enough that when there’s a DAP even
t nearby, it feels less like a corporate product demonstration and more like a group of people getting together for a good day on the water.

And close enough that, someday, when you see another DAP rider out there, there’s already a small sense that you’re part of the same community.
That matters to us.
Because at the end of the day, technology is only part of the experience.
The best memories usually aren’t about the motor specifications or the battery capacity.
They’re about where you went.
Who came with you.
The first time you managed to lift an eFoil out of the water.
The ridiculous fall five minutes later.
A quiet sunset cruise.
Finding a new stretch of coastline.
Or simply spending an afternoon outside with people you care about.
That’s the part of water life we want DAP to be part of.

This Is Just the Beginning

We’re still at the beginning of the DAP story.
There are products we want to improve, ideas we want to test, places we want to ride, and a lot of people we haven’t met yet.
And in a way, that’s what makes this stage so exciting.
We’re not trying to tell you that DAP already has everything figured out.
We’d rather build it with the people who decide to join us along the way.
So if you’re already an experienced eFoil rider, come ride with us.
If you’ve never stood on an eFoil before, you’re just as welcome.
If you simply enjoy paddleboarding, exploring the coast, spending weekends by the water, or trying something new — we hope there will be a place for you here too.
DAP started with products.
But we hope it grows through people.
And from Los Angeles to wherever the water takes us next, we’re looking forward to building this community with you.
